SBVC Sprints Past Mt. San Jacinto

After struggling in the first half against Chaffey College on Wednesday, the San Bernardino Valley College men's basketball team knew it would need a quick start against Mt. San Jacinto College on Saturday.

They got it.

The Wolverines went on a 12-0 run after giving up the game's first basket and then clamped down on the Eagles en route to a 81-55 victory. SBVC led by 13 at half and led by as many as 27 in the game. 

SBVC had four players finish the game in double figures, as the Wolverines made 54.5 percent of their shots. Meanwhile, the SBVC defense limited the Eagles to only 33.3 percent shooting, while forcing 14 MSJC turnovers.

Dominique Daniels once again led the Wolverines in scoring with 20 points while adding eight assists and four rebounds. Sylis Gray added a season-high 18 points, while also pulling down nine rebounds and adding six assists. Sebastian Mendoza posted a double-double, with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Chester Makoi added 12 points with six rebounds off the bench.

Desean Stevens led Mt. San Jacinto, posting a double-double of his own, scoring 19 points and pulling down 12 rebounds.
