How Can I Become an SBVC Student-Athlete?

First and foremost, to become part of the athletics program you'll need to meet with the Head Coach of the sport you would like to participate in. Please visit the contact information page on this website for their contact information. DO NOT send a direct message to the general SBVC Athletics social media sites, as they will tell you to contact the coach. Once you've established you're going to be a part of a team, continue with the following steps below.


If you have never attended SBVC, you will need to create a new OpenCCC account with the steps below. If you are returning to SBVC and already have an account, you will log in with the username and password you previously set up and complete a new application for SBVC.

  • To begin you application, visit and create a new account.
  • Once you are signed in, select "San Bernardino Valley College" from the menu.
  • Complete all steps of the application and submit.

You should receive a welcome email approximately 24 hours after submitting your online application. This email will include your username/email, student ID number, and instructions on how to set up your WebAdvisor account. Once logged in, complete the following:

  • Online orientation (SBVC)
  • Online placement (SBVC)

After completing the steps above, please visit The Huddle during business hours to meet with an Athletic Counselor and complete your Education Plan (Ed Plan).

Huddle Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m; Friday, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Counseling hours may vary.)

NOTE: An Ed Plan DOES NOT mean you're registered for classes. It's a map you'll follow while attending SBVC to meet your graduation and/or transfer goals.

Now that you've met with an Athletic Counselor and completed your Education Plan, you will select and register for the classes that are listed on your ed plan.

  • Go to the main website at Click on "Log In" in the top right-hand corner, select "WebAdvisor" from the drop-down and log in.
  • Select "Register and drop classes."
  • Select "Search and register for classes."
  • Select the "Term," the "Subject," and type in the "Course Number" for that class.
  • Select "San Bernardino Valley College" for the location and SUBMIT.
  • Select the class you would like to add and SUBMIT.
  • To the left of the class you would like to register for, under "Action," select "Register" in the drop-down menu.
  • Check the AB2248 box in the bottom left-hand corner and SUBMIT
