The San Bernardino Valley College men's basketball team went on a 15-4 run midway through the second half to break open a tight game as the Wolverines knocked off Antelope Valley 96-88 Saturday night on Day 2 of the Alvin Hunter Classic at SBVC.
Center Roman Silva capped the run with a layup to give the Wolverines a 20-point lead with eight minutes to go. But the Mauraders chipped away the rest of the way, but never got back closer than eight points the rest of the way. The Wolverines led by as much as 25 in the game.
Silva led the way for the Wolverines with 19 points, including a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. He was joined in double figures by K'Lon Williams (18), Arian Azemi (15) and Damani Washington (13).
Antelope Valley's Gianni Brown led all scorers with 23 points.
The Alvin Hunter Classic concludes Sunday with games beginning at 1 p.m.
