SBVC Men’s Basketball sinks the Vikings, awaits #1 seed in SoCal Regionals

SBVC (29-2; 10-0) will be taking their 18 game winning streak into the post-season, as they dominated and overwhelmed the Barstow Vikings (3-22; 0-10), 100-50.

SBVC was so dominant in the first half that they opened the game on a 20-0 run and Barstow did not even get into double-digits until there was just under four minutes left in the half, at which time the score was 36-10. SBVC went into halftime with a 29-point lead, 46-17. SBVC would get to a 40-point margin with 14:20 left in the game, leading 62-22 and then up by 50-points with 3:31 left in the game.

Sophomore forward Dominique Wilson (Kansas City, KS Washington) had a monster day off of the bench, scoring a double-double in the second half alone, totaling 21 points on 8 of 12 shooting and grabbing 15 boards.

Sophomore starting guard Todd Lewis (Pasadena H.S.) added 17 points on 7 of 14 shooting and freshman guard Perris Hicks (Pasadena H.S.) came off of the bench to contribute 16 points, going 3 for 6 from beyond the arc on the afternoon. Sophomore starting forward Kyle Benton (Long Beach St. Anthony) put up 15 points, shooting 6 of 7 from the field and freshman guard Zack Rollins (Westchester, NY Pelham Memorial) came off of the bench to add 10 points on 4 of 7 shooting.
