SBVC Men’s Basketball rolls in 11th straight win, 104-70

SBVC (22-2; 3-0) had five players in double figures and dominated from the inside and from the bench as they rolled to their eleventh consecutive victory, maintaining a undefeated record in Foothill Conference play over a tough opponent, the Palm Desert College of the Desert Roadrunners (10-9; 2-1), 104-70.

SBVC sophomore starting guard Charles Callison (Moreno Valley Canyon Springs) had a fantastic game, grabbing one of the rarest of JuCo double-doubles, the illusive 11 assists, along with 33 hard fought points on 12 of 19 shooting, going 4 for 6 from three-point range and shooting 5 of 6 from the free throw line, along with five steals.

Sophomore starting forward Kyle Benton (Long Beach St. Anthony) also collected a double-double, with 18 points on 8 of 14 shooting and 11 boards and sophomore starting guard Khleem Perkins (San Bernardino H.S.) was one rebounds shy of a double-double, with 16 points on 7 of 11 shooting and nine boards in the victory.

Freshman guard Perris Hicks (Pasadena H.S.) came off of the bench to add 15 points on 5 of 7 shooting and sophomore forward Dominique Wilson (Kansas City, KS Washington) also off of the bench, added 11 points on 5 of 7 shooting and five blocks on the afternoon.

SBVC built a ten point lead within the first four minutes, 16-6 and had a 20-point lead with 6:15 left in the first half, 38-18; both teams would go into halftime with SBVC up 49-26. Less than three minutes into the second half they had a 30-point lead, 56-26 and with 4:30 left in the game, SBVC had their largest lead of the contest, 39-points, 96-57.
