Keith Candelaria started as Co-Head Athletic Trainer for San Bernardino Valley College in 2019.  Prior to SBVC, Keith served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Whittier College and was their NCAA Athletics Health Care Administrator. During his time at Whittier College, Keith oversaw and managed the prevention, care, and treatment for all 450 student athletes within Whittier College’s 24 intercollegiate sports.  During his time at Whittier, Keith was 1 of 30 individuals selected nationally and invited by NCAA Division III to attend the Institute for Administrative Advancement who partners with Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA).

Prior to Whittier College, Keith worked as an Athletic Trainer for Orange Coast College, Santa Ana College Fire Technology Wellness Program, and was a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the University of La Verne.  Keith also was an instructor for Tri Cities ROP at California High School teaching Sports Medicine 1 and Emergency Medical Response courses.  Keith also served as an athletic training intern for the San Diego Padres and his alma mater St. John Bosco High School while attending school at California State University, Fullerton.

Before Athletic Training, Keith was a product of the California Community College System attending Rio Hondo College where he studied Fire Technology and Volunteered for various Fire Departments all throughout Southern California.

Keith holds a Master's Degree in Leadership and Management from the University of La Verne, a Bachelor's in Athletic Training with a Minor in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton, an Associate of Science Degree from Rio Hondo College in Fire Technology and an Associated of Arts degree from Rio Hondo College in Liberal Arts. Keith is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Far West Athletic Trainers’ Association (FWATA), California Athletic Trainers’ Association (CATA), and California Community College Athletic Trainers Association (CCCATA). Keith also is an approved Preceptor for Azusa Pacific University, and University of La Verne Athletic Training Education Programs (ATEP).

He loves spending time with family and currently resides in Rialto with his three children Ciera, Adrien, and Kaiden with wife Kellsie.
