With the end of the season fast approaching, the San Bernardino Valley College track teams headed to Moorpark College to participate in the Moorpark Invitational.
Competing against teams from across California, the SBVC women continued building on their personal and season bests.
Atop that list was the women's 4x400 meter relay team. The group - comprised of Liliana Wilson, Melanie Bravo, Sara Jaquez, and Jade Campbell - won its race with a state "A" standard time of 4 minutes, 9.71 seconds.
Members of that group shaved time off their best finishes in their individual events, as well. Campbell ran a season best 59.85 seconds in the 400 meters, good for third place. Wilson finished 11th overall in the 100 meters with a time of 13.27 seconds, while Bravo set her PR in the 100 at 13.49. Kilani Bryant also posted her personal best in the 100, finishing at 13.55 seconds.
Meanwhile, Zailah Armenta took sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, posting a time of 13:43.41.
The team will have its last test before the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference championships this weekend at the Cerritos Invitational.
