SBVC Stymied by Antelope Valley

The San Bernardino Valley College women's soccer team will look back at Friday's game against Antelope Valley College as a series of missed chances.

The Wolverines had plenty of opportunities, dominated possession, and fired 22 shots toward the AVC goal. But in the end, they couldn't find a way to stop the Mauraders' Mi'Angel Green. Green scored twice - her fourth and fifth goals of the young season - and Antelope Valley got 12 saves from Melanie Ramos to stop SBVC 2-0.

SBVC ended the game outshooting Antelope Valley 22-5, with all five of the Mauraders' shots ending up on goal. SBVC had six corners to just one for AVC.

Green opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, as she got the ball in tight and pushed it past goalkeeper Rilee Shipman to give the Mauraders a 1-0 lead at the half. In the second half, playing as the only attacker, Green was on the end of a long ball in the 53rd minute. She settled the ball and fired it in from about 20 yards.
