Lecon Makes Commitment to Head to Texas

Kerstin Lecon, who tended the goal for two years for the San Bernardino Valley College women's soccer team, has signed a letter of intent to continue her playing career at Texas A&M University, Texarkana.

Lecon, a graduate of Riverside Hillcrest High School, was named to the CCCAA Academic All-State team for her work on the field and in the classroom for the 2019 season, and to the California Community College Soccer Coaches Associations' 2019 Scholar-Athlete Team. To be eligible for the honor, academic sophomores must have posted a grade point average of 3.3 or above and completed at least 24 units. She was also an honorable mention selection for the All-Inland Empire Athletic Conference team.

In two seasons at SBVC, Lecon posted 12 wins, allowing only 15 goals in 32 appearances for a 0.68 goals against average with 69 total saves.

She will be joining a Texas A&M, Texarkana team coached by Don Koontz, who led his team to a 12-6-1 overall record with a 6-3 record in the Red River Conference.
