Wolverines Turn Focus to Preparation for Conference Title

Racing in back-to-back weeks in a schedule thrown up in the air due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the San Bernardino Valley College men's cross country team finished eighth in the 15-team field at the San Diego Mesa Invitational on Friday, Oct. 1.

Juan Hernandez led the way for SBVC, finishing the four-mile course in 21 minutes, 45.5 seconds, good for 31st in the field. Oscar Gaspar Chavez was the next Wolverine across the line, finishing 76th at 22:43.1.

"We will regroup after this race," said coach Jim Ratigan. "Our focus now is to be better for the last three meets of the season, with conference set for the end of the month."

Adam Lunt finished at 23:28.3, just seconds ahead of teammate Logan Hernandez, who crossed the line at 23:31.8.
