For every track and field athlete, the goal over a season is to be reaching your peak performance for the biggest meets of the season.

San Bernardino Valley College freshman Caleb Roberson will head into this weekend's California Community College Athletic Association State Championships at Mt. San Antonio College right there.

Roberson took the top spot in the 400 meter hurdles at last week's Southern California Regionals at Moorpark College, with a time of 52.86 seconds, giving him the fastest time in the state this season. His result also puts him in the top five times in SBVC history.

The state championships will be Friday and Saturday at Mt. SAC.
