First Season - 2025
Coach Keenan Gardner has joined the San Bernardino Valley College football coaching staff for the 2025 season as the Pass Game Coordinator & Wide Receivers Coach. He comes to SBVC from Fullerton College, where he was a part of the Hornet Football coaching staff from 2017-2025. He served as the tight ends coach in 2017, helping the team to another Conference, State, and National Title. Coach Gardner was the offensive line coach (2019), running backs coach & Run-Game Coordinator (2020-2021), wide receiver coach & Passing-Game Coordinator (2022-2023), and the Offensive Coordinator for the 2024 season.
While at Fullerton College, Gardner helped develop many players, helping several receive All-Conference & All-State honors: two tight ends, one offensive lineman, two running backs, five wide receivers, and three return specialists.
Before coming to Fullerton College, Coach Gardner worked as the wide receivers coach at Riverside City College under head coach Tom Craft for the 2015-16 seasons. While at RCC, Coach Gardner developed one All-American, two All-State, and four All-Conference wide receivers in those two years. Four of those WRs received Division 1 (Power 5) Scholarships and two received Division 1 (FCS) Scholarships.
A two-time All-San Bernardino County and CIF-SS honoree as a junior (wide receiver) and senior (tight end) at Barstow High School, Gardner amassed 105 receptions for 2,275 yards and 26 TD's in his two varsity seasons at Barstow. He was named to the SuperPrep Magazine First Team All-America team and USA Today Second Team All-America as a tight end.
Gardner accepted a full-ride scholarship to The University of Colorado (1992-94) as a tight end and then transferred to Montana State University during his senior season in 1995 as a wide receiver, where he majored in Business Finance. Following his final season at Montana State, he became the assistant coach of the wide receivers during the Bobcats' 1996 season. In 2005, he returned to his alma mater, Barstow HS, as Offensive Coordinator for one season. From 2008 to 2015, he was the wide receivers coach for Nike Regional Opening Camps.
Coach Gardner and his wife, Lisa, have been married for 30 years and have two sons and one daughter. Dr. Byron Gardner (35), who played Division 1 football at Marist University; Kendall Gardner (34) Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy; and Kaliyah Gardner (27), currently completing her PhD at Rutgers University.
