SBVC Baseball homers past the Coyotes, 10-5

SBVC (12-11; 8-3) has outscored the Cerro Coso Coyotes (5-16; 1-10) by a total of 54-18 in the past three games with one more left on Saturday at Ridgecrest, as SBVC took a six run fourth inning and cruised, 10-5.

Today's game was punctuated by a solo home run in the fifth inning by sophomore first baseman Aaron Cisneros (San Bernardino H.S.) which cleared the 60 foot fence in left field and landed in a row of houses nearly 500+ feet away.

Sophomore right handed starting pitcher Nick Przybylek (4-1) (Riverside Martin Luther King, Jr.) tossing a three hit masterpiece over seven shutout innings, walking one and striking out six. Sophomore right handed pitcher Jeremy Moreno (Riverside Poly) threw the final two innings, surrendering five runs, one earned, on three hits and walking one.

Freshman second baseman Jonathan McCray (Riverside Martin Luther King, Jr.) had a nice day at the plate going 1 for 3 with two runs scored and four runs batted in, grabbing an RBI the hard way in the fourth by getting hit by a pitch, then punching a three-run home run in the seventh.

SBVC got the scoring going in the bottom of the fourth when the home side tacked on six runs in the frame. The first and second batters walked, the third and fourth batters were hit by pitches, the fourth being McCray and then sophomore short stop Tyler Robles (Etiwanda H.S.) singled to score a run and keep the bases loaded. Another walk brought in another run, a sacrifice fly to center scored the fourth run of the inning, and then a single by sophomore third baseman Andrew Ramones (Redlands Citrus Valley) to again load the bases ended the day for the Coyotes starter. Finally, sophomore center fielder Titus Carlson (Moreno Valley Valley View), who led off the inning, hit a double to score the final two runs of the inning, giving SBVC a 6-0 lead.

SBVC added another run in the bottom of the fifth on the solo blast by Cisneros and added three more runs in the bottom of the seventh on the three-run shot by McCray. The Coyotes would add four runs in the top of the eighth, all unearned, due to an outfield error followed by an infield error, and they would add one more in the top of the ninth.
