SBVC Baseball grabs their 1st win at home, Przybylek throws 8 innings in victory

SBVC (3-8) had yet to win at home going into today's game and sophomore right handed starting pitcher Nick Przybylek (1-1) (Riverside Martin Luther King, Jr.) had yet to win a game in this short season, but both fortunes changed as SBVC rolled to victory over the Compton Tartars (4-6), 9-6.

Przybylek would toss eight strong innings, giving up six runs, none earned on 11 hits and striking out six in the win and sophomore right handed pitcher Brandon Conlon (Norco H.S.) grabbed his first save of the season.

SBVC would open up the scoring in the bottom of the third when they put up a six spot, led by a grand slam off of the bat of sophomore first baseman Aaron Cisneros (San Bernardino H.S.) who pounded a shot to left field, giving SBVC a four run lead, which chased the Tartars starting pitcher. SBVC would plate two more runners in the inning to give SBVC a 6-0 lead after three innings.

SBVC would add another run in the bottom of the sixth and then Compton started to chip away at that lead, scoring three runs in the top half of the seventh. SBVC added two more runs to their total and then it was hold on to your seats time, as the Tartars added a run in the eighth and two more in the ninth to keep things interesting late.

Sophomore short stop Tyler Robles (Etiwanda H.S.) went 2 for 5 with a run scored and Cisneros went 2 for 2 with a run scored and five runs batted in. Freshman second baseman Jonathan McCray (Riverside Martin Luther King, Jr.) went 2 for 5 with two runs scored and an RBI and freshman right fielder Austin Berglund (Etiwanda H.S.) went 2 for 3 with a run scored on the afternoon.
