SBVC Baseball rolls up the Roadrunners, 14-5

SBVC (19-11; 15-3) rolled to their 12th straight win as they scored eight runs in the first and cruised to another knock out of the Palm Desert College of the Desert (8-24; 7-14), 14-5.

Freshman left handed starting pitcher Sam Fitzgerald (4-0) (Lake Elsinore H.S.) tossed five innings of shutout baseball, surrendering three hits and striking out seven. Freshman right handed pitcher Raymond Salazar (Riverside Martin Luther King, Jr.) threw an inning of work walking two and sophomore right handed pitcher Tyler Sapp (Yucaipa H.S.) added an inning, giving up two runs, both earned on a hit, walking three. Freshman right handed pitcher Grant Gooselaw (Lake Elsinore Temescal Canyon) tossed an inning of work and struck out one and sophomore right handed pitcher Jeremy Moreno (Riverside Poly) threw the final inning, surrendering three runs, all earned, on two hits, walking one and striking out two.

 Freshman second baseman Jonathan McCray (Riverside Martin Luther King, Jr.) led the way for SBVC in the four hole, going 3 for 3 with three runs scored and two runs batted in. Sophomore third baseman Andrew Ramones (Redlands Citrus Valley) went 2 for 5 with a run scored and an RBI on the afternoon.

 Sophomore center fielder and leadoff hitter Titus Carlson (Moreno Valley Valley View) went 1 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI and freshman right fielder Austin Berglund (Etiwanda H.S.) went 1 for 3 with two runs scored. Sophomore first baseman Aaron Cisneros (San Bernardino H.S.) went 1 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBI's and sophomore left fielder Christian Hendrix (Fontana Henry J. Kaiser) went 1 for 2 with a run scored and two RBI's.
