Christina Acevedo started her position as an Athletic Trainer for San Bernardino Valley College January 2025.
 
Prior to SBVC, Christina served as Head Athletic Trainer at Grand Terrace High School and was their CIF Athletics HealthCare Administrator. During this time Christina oversaw and managed the prevention, care, and treatment for over 300 student-athletes within Grand Terrace’s 15 CIF sports. She also worked for Clover Enterprise Inc., serving Riverside County high schools as a head athletic trainer and was offered an instructor position through Riverside County of Education (RCOE), instructing high school students enrolled in sports medicine curriculum within RCOE’s Career Technical Education Program.
 
In addition to Grand Terrace High School and Clover Enterprise Inc., Christina also worked at the University of Redlands as an assistant athletic trainer for their 22 NCAA sport programs. She also works as a Kinesiology Adjunct Professor at the University of Redlands. She teaches an Introduction to Sports Medicine course where she combines theoretical knowledge and practical applications to future healthcare providers, coaches, and educators on the basics of prevention, recognition, and/or care of common athletic injuries. Christina also has experience working in the industrial setting in athletic training where she completed ergonomic assessments, offered general rehabilitation for non-work-related injuries, and developed innovative programs aimed at improving overall worker health.
 
Christina has earned her Master of Athletic Training from California Baptist University, her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from California Baptist University, and earned two associate’s degrees - one degree in Health Science from Crafton Hills College and another Associates of Art in Early Childhood Development from Riverside Community College. Christina is an active member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA), Far West Athletic Trainer’s Association (FWATA), and California Community College Athletic Trainer Association (CCCATA).
 
Christina loves spending time with her family, friends, two dogs, traveling, and practicing yoga.
