Wolverines Fall Short in Battle with Riverside

The San Bernardino Valley College women's volleyball opened the home piece of the schedule Friday night, falling to Riverside in straight sets, 25-23, 25-15, 25-14.

The Wolverines (0-2) led at times in the first and third sets, before the deeper bench of the Tigers were able to wear down San Bernardino. The see-saw first set saw multiple lead changes before the Tigers were able to close it out on serve.

Sequoia Flott led the Wolverines' offense with six kills, while setter Brianna Wagner added three kills of her own to her 14 assists in the game. Melanie Lizama had a team high 16 digs in the defeat.

SBVC will be back in action with games Thursday and Friday at home, hosting West Los Angeles on Thursday night before playing host to a quad tournament on Friday beginning at 11 a.m.
