SBVC Women’s Volleyball pushes past West LA, 3-1

SBVC (2-2) opened up the new $61 million SBVC Gym by putting together a solid effort against the Culver City West Los Angeles Wildcats (1-3), 25-11, 23-25, 25-9 and 25-20.

Sophomore setter Nayeli Hernandez (San Bernardino Aquinas) led the team with 23 assists and had 3 service aces and sophomore outside hitter Roslynn Hamilton (Moreno Valley Vista del Lago) led the team with 15 digs and had 8 kills.

Sophomore outside hitter Daeja Lewis (Redlands East Valley) led the team with 6 service aces and had 7 kills and freshman middle blocker Alexis Thomas (Beaumont H.S.) led the team with 2 solo blocks and had 5 kills.

Sophomore outside hitter Stephanie Gilbert (Moreno Valley Vista Del Lago) led the team with 13 kills and had 14 digs and sophomore middle blocker Ariana Cole (Fontana Azariel Blanchard Miller) had 4 service aces and 2 blocks assists.

Freshman libero Angel Rodriguez (Fontana Azariel Blanchard Miller) led the team with 12 digs.

SBVC collected their first home win of the season and are now 1-0 in 4 set matches this season.
