SBVC Women’s Soccer: Madrigal signs letter of intent

SBVC Women's Soccer sophomore forward Mariana Valenciana-Madrigal (Jurupa Valley H.S.) has signed a letter of intent with Eastern Oregon University.

Madrigal participated in 17 games in 2015 and 22 games in 2014, making an impact in both seasons by totaling 12 goals and 7 assists.

The team finished the season ranked 7th in the nation by the NSCAA, ending the year with a 16-3-3 overall record and a 6-1-1 conference record. They were rewarded with a #5 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs. As a reward for their seventh Conference Championship, the team was bestowed with the Conference MVP award, four first team All-Conference honors and four second team All-Conference honors.

Eastern Oregon University is located in La Grande, Oregon, which is about 260 miles east of Portland and about 70 miles south of the Oregon-Washington border. The EOU Mounties play at EOU Soccer Field, and the team is coached by 2nd year head coach, Justin Wagar. In the 2015 season, the Mounties went 9-2 in conference play finishing 2nd, with an overall record of 17-3-1, concluding the season in opening round of the NAIA National Championship tournament. EOU is in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) of NAIA.
