Landers played his High school ball at Long Beach as a Running Back, was 2nd team all conference moore league, team captain. LA Valley College Running Back/H-Back & The Iliinois State University RedBirds Running Back.

Landers began a three-year stint as Running Backs Coach at Citrus College in Glendora, Ca. under head coach Ron Ponciano where he coached the likes of Ricky Johnson & Andre Holmes two all conference backs. Landers was Ponciano's former player at LA Valley College. Landers was given the chance to become Recruiting Coordinator at Pasadena City College where he quickly pumped out 11 players D1 such as Michigan State's Miguel Muchado & Old Dominion's Manny Matiarena in his only season with the lancers. After a awesome recruiting run with the lancers Landers was a highly sought after recruiter and running backs coach. L.A. Pierce College came after Landers where he was there for only a spring with head coach Efrain Martinez, Martinez knew what he had in Landers and made him Recruiting Coodinator! Soon after LA Pierce Defense of Cordinator Juan Navarro took the head job at LA Valley and also saw what Martinez saw in Landers as a recruiter, and offered him the same roll but with a chance to come back home to LA Valley College to be the Recruitng Cordinator/Speecial-Teams Cordinator. Landers has sent over 272 players D1 in the past 4 years.they call him "The Gorilla Recruiter". He has two little girls Sydney 6 years, Scarlett 2 years old and wife Selena, They reside Glendora Ca.
