Omar Cook attended Southern University where he played safety from 2009 to 2013. He is no stranger to success after winning a Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship during his senior season in 2013. He finished that season leading the secondary with 77 tackles and 3 interceptions. He was selected to the FCS National Bowl in Miami, FL. Following his college career, he signed with the Nebraska Danger of the Indoor Football League (IFL) in 2014. He went on to play for the Billings Wolves in the IFL for the 2015 and 2016 seasons where he posted career totals 91 tackles, 8 pass breakups and 2 interceptions.

Cook began coaching in 2014 as Defensive Backs Coach of Bridgton Academy in Bridgton, Maine. In 2015 he joined San Bernardino Valley College as Cornerbacks Coach where he helped secure a Conference Championship and Golden State Bowl Game birth. He coached all conference selection Daniel Gonzales who led the team in interceptions with 5. This will be Cook's second year with the program.

Cook is the oldest of 5 siblings. One of his sisters will be attending San Jose State as a student athlete for track and field. Another sister will be attending Beckman High School this fall participating in cheerleading.
