The San Bernardino Valley College football team only needed 1 minute, 16 seconds to get the scoring started during their visit to Pasadena City College on Sept. 29.

And the Wolverines didn't stop from there, as they rolled to a 69-20 win over the Lancers.

Jeffrey Proctor opened the scoring with a 1-yard run after he opened the game with a 46-yard kickoff return, aided with penalty to Pasadena, started the Wolverines' first drive at the Pasadena 30-yard-line.

The Lancers tried to slow the game down from their, utilizing their ground game. They drove to the SBVC 7-yard-line before a penalty and lost yardage set the Lancers up for a third-and-goal at the SBVC 14. On that play, JaQuere Williams picked off quarterback Isaia Ah-Hing at the Wolverines' 2-yard-line, and he was off to the races, returning the interception for a touchdown. The two-point conversion pass to Kellen Pachot made it 14-0.

Keion Guyton picked off Ah-Hing on the next drive to set up the Wolverines at their own 49. Two pass plays from Armando Herrera to Omar Perkins later, and the Wolverines were in the end zone. Dominic Young's kick made it 21-0 just 9:03 into the game.

The Wolverines weren't done in the first quarter, either. Williams blocked Pasadena's punt attempt on the next drive, giving SBVC the ball at the Pasadena 24. After a holding play negated a first-down touchdown pass from Herrera to Pachot, it only took two plays for the Wolverines to get into the end zone. Herrera threw to Perkins for 12 yards, then Pachot for the final 22, making it 28-0

To finish off the first, Pachot returned a Pasadena punt out of its own end zone back to Pasadena's line of scrimmage, their own 3-yard-line. On second-and-goal, Herrera threw to Justin Lankford for the fifth touchdown of the quarter, and a 35-0 lead.

The Wolverines' offense was efficient throughout the night, gaining 471 yards of total offense on only 50 plays, while holding the ball for only 17:57. Herrera threw for 357 of those yards, matching his own school record with seven touchdown passes. Proctor had two touchdowns on the ground, rushing for 74 yards on 13 carries. The defense had its scoreless quarters streak snapped early in the third quarter, but still only allowed Pasadena 295 yards of total offense, while adding four interceptions, four sacks and 11 tackles for loss.

SBVC has its bye week next before opening conference play against Antelope Valley at 6 p.m. Oct. 13 at SBVC Stadium.
