Southwestern College returned two San Bernardino Valley College turnovers into touchdowns, putting the Wolverines into a hole they could not climb out of as the Jaguars rolled to a 60-28 victory.

Quarterback Alex Lewis came on in the second half, completing 11 of 13 passes for 174 yards and three touchdowns, the first of which made the score 30-10 near the end of the third quarter.

But the Jaguars ran off 30 points in the final 15 minutes, including two single-play drives and a 98-yard return of a blocked extra point kick by Janai Crawford.

Lewis tossed touchdown passes of 1, 2 and 51 yards to Micah Lowden, Darryl Turner and Brandin McDowell, respectively. Jeffrey Proctor returned a fourth-quarter kickoff 98 yards as well. Humberto Ramirez also kicked a 19-yard field goal in the first half, to account for the Wolverines' scoring, as San Bernardino Valley failed on their final three point-after conversions.

The Wolverines did cut down on the number of penalties in the game, only committing nine for 90 yards, and held the ball longer than the Jaguars for the game. Also, benefitting from nine first downs on penalties, San Bernardino had more first downs in the game, 26-22.

San Bernardino Valley closes out the home portion of its schedule at 6 p.m. this Saturday against Victor Valley College. It will be homecoming and sophomore night, as we honor our second year players.
