Volleyball Clinches Winning Season With Sweep

The San Bernardino Valley College women's volleyball team clinched its first winning season since 2005 with a three-set victory over Cerro Coso College.

SBVC was strong on offense against the one-win Coyotes, converting 31.1 percent of its attacks, converting 37 kills. The Wolverines also took advantage from the service line, getting credit for 15 aces.

Loleaulelei Mamea led the Wolverines on offense, finishing with 14 kills in 23 attempts. She also three aces and eight digs. Manaia Mamea was right behind her sister, converting 11 of her 23 attacks with four aces. Annika Ferreras had 15 assists, while Itzana Rojas had 12 helpers.

SBVC will host a breast cancer awareness event as part of their home game Wednesday against winless Copper Mountain. The game is scheduled for 5 p.m.
