SBVC (4-9) had a little fun ahead of opening Foothill Conference play as they welcomed six SBVC Women's Volleyball alumni for a game that saw the current team defeat the veterans, 25-19, 25-20, 25-15.

Joining the alumni team was setter Christy Brosius (Glendale, AZ Ironwood) who was a 2008 & 2009 1st Team All-Foothill Conference selection, along with middle blocker Briana McKie (San Bernardino San Gorgonio) who was a 2010 & 2011 2nd Team All-Foothill Conference selection.

Libero Erica Taylor (Moreno Valley Canyon Springs) who was a 2010 Honorable Mention All-Foothill Conference selection also made the trek out and middle blocker Briana Davis (Fontana H.S.) who was a 2013 1st Team All-Foothill Conference selection.

Outside hitter Jezere Whalgren (Lake Arrowhead Rim of the World) who was a 2008 & 2009 Honorable Mention All-Foothill Conference selection and middle blocker Serina Alex (Moreno Valley Canyon Springs) who was a 2009 2nd Team All-Foothill Conference selection rounded out the six players for the alumni team.

As for the game itself, SBVC put together an impressive performance at home and received some key contributions from their team leaders.

Freshman libero Valerie Navarrete (Fontana A.B. Miller) collected 14 digs and 2 service aces and freshman outside hitter Roslynn Hamilton (Moreno Valley Vista del Lago) had 7 kills and 15 digs.

Freshman middle blocker Ariana Cole (Fontana Azariel Blanchard Miller) led the team with 8 kills and 4 service aces and sophomore middle blocker Yamiq Myles (Moreno Valley Vista del Lago) had 7 kills.

Freshman setter Nayeli Hernandez (San Bernardino Aquinas) led the team with 21 assists, 3 service aces and 4 digs, freshman outside hitter Stephanie Gilbert (Moreno Valley Vista Del Lago) had 5 kills and 11 digs and freshman outside hitter Chelsea Afereti (Moreno Valley H.S.) had 5 kills and 11 digs in the win.
