SBVC Players Earn All-IEAC Honors

Inland Empire Athletic Conference soccer coaches gathered earlier in the week to make their selections for all conference honors for the 2021 season, and eight members of the San Bernardino Valley College women's soccer team were honored.

Earning first team selections from SBVC were:

Goalkeeper Ana Barajas (San Jacinto): The freshman started 18 regular season games for the Wolverines, only allowing 18 goals while making 58 saves. 

Defender Johanna Barraza (Arroyo Valley): Part of the shut-down SBVC defense that only allowed 19 total goals on the season. A freshman, she started in 18 of the team's 19 games.

Midfielder Angelina Diaz (Jurupa Hills): The freshman could usually be found in the central attacking midfield spot for the Wolverines. She was second on the team with six goals, while adding one assist.

Midfielder April Regalado (Arroyo Valley): A sophomore, Regalado has been the engine in the middle of the field, connecting the Wolverines' offense with its defense. In the regular season, she started all 19 games, scoring four goals and adding four assists. 

Earning second team selections were:

Forward Allyson Awunganyi (Arlington): The speedy sophomore winger scored four goals on the season - one a game-winner - and added three assists from her role as an attacker.

Defender Ferryn Koss (Riverisde Poly): A shut-down defender, the sophomore could usually be found on the left side of the Wolverines' defense. She also added two goals and three assists in the 2021 season.

Forward Anisa Rodriguez (Patriot): The freshman led the Wolverines with seven goals on the season, three of which were game-winners.

Midfielder/Forward Jovana Soto-Torres (Arroyo Valley): Adept at playing at both ends, the freshman scored four goals and added one assist in the regular season.
