Dismang, Magana Lead SBVC All-IEAC Picks

Playing what some considered the toughest schedule in the state in the 2021 was sure to put pressure on the San Bernardino Valley College men's soccer team defense.

And despite their overall record not being what they wanted, that defense did what it could to keep the Wolverines in games against a schedule dotted with teams lining up to play in the postseason.

For their efforts, a pair of stawarts in the back were honored this week as selections for the 2021 All-Inland Empire Athletic Conference first team.

Defender Blake Dismang was honored for his work this season. The 6-foot-3 freshman from Redlands East Valley High School was used in a variety of roles this season besides defense, and was active in the team's attack as well. He finished the season tied for the team lead in goals with five, two of which were game-winners. He finised the season strong, posting a hat trick in the team's 3-1 win over Victor Valley. He also had three assists.

Dismang was joined on the first team by sophomore goalkeeper Arturo Magana. The 6-foot-5 graduate of San Bernardino High School started 13 games this season, including all eight conference games, allowing only 21 goals on the season.

The Wolverines had two players added the second team. Sophomore Dawit Cloar (Redlands) played a big role in the Wolverines' midfield, while freshman defender Jason Salazar (Valley View) was a strong addition to the back line.

Earing honorable mentions were Ebrima Njie, Reymundo Domingo and Brian Orozco.
