Devon Davis joined the SBVC men’s basketball coaching staff in the fall of 2023. As an alumni of SBVC, Davis has been excited to return to where his collegiate basketball career started. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Davis relocated to San Bernardino in 2004 to attend SBVC. Over the last decade Davis has guided student athletes both on and off the basketball court, with an emphasis in player development and matriculating to four-year universities.

During his freshman year at SBVC, the team advanced to the Elite Eight of the California State Community College Championship. The following year, Davis helped lead his team to a Foothill Conference Championship. After earning All-Conference honors as a sophomore, Davis elected to remain in San Bernardino and attend California State University, San Bernardino on an athletic scholarship.

As a starter in both his junior and senior year at CSUSB, Davis was a part of two Conference Championships, a CCAA Conference Tournament Championship along with advancing both years to the second round of the NCAA Division II West Region Championships. Following his collegiate playing career, Davis pursued a professional basketball career, landing him in Taipei, Taiwan and Lawton, Okla., where he played with the semi-pro team, Fort Seal Calvary.

Davis graduated from California State University San Bernardino with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology in 2010 and later earned his Master’s Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Management from California Baptist University in Riverside in 2015.
