SBVC Opens Elite 8 Friday Night

The San Bernardino Valley College men’s basketball team advanced to the state’s final eight Saturday with their 66-62 win over Riverside City College on Saturday night.

SBVC will now head to West Hills College in Lemoore for the final three rounds of the tournament, which will be played Friday through Sunday.

The Wolverines enter this portion of the tournament as the No. 2-seeded team from the South, and will take on the north’s No. 3 seed, College of the Sequoias. That game is scheduled as the final game of the day, tipping off at 7 p.m.

The winner of Friday night’s game will take on the winner of the North’s No. 1 seed, City College of San Francisco against the South’s No. 4 seed, MiraCosta College at either 5 or 7 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets for every game of the state tournament are $12 for general admission and $8 for college students with ID, faculty/staff with ID, seniors (60 and older) and children (12 and younger). Tickets are now on sale online by going to the state’s site at https://cccaa.hometownticketing.com/embed/all.

All fans will be required to present proof of vaccination (digital or hard copy) or a labratory- or healthcare-administered negative antigen or PCR Covid-19 test within 72 hours as a requirement for admission to the tournament. No self or home tests will be accepted as proof. Masks are required of all guests throughout the tournament.

All games from the tournament, including the tournament’s women’s games (which begin Thursday), will be streamed live on CCCAASports.org via BAOSN.tv. You can find the BAOSN TV app available on television streaming platforms, including Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV.
