SBVC Hall of Famer to Throw Out First Pitch Saturday

SBVC Hall of Famer to Throw Out First Pitch Saturday

The San Bernardino Valley College baseball team will open its season this weekend with a two-game series against Los Angeles Mission College.

The two teams will meet Friday at LA Mission, and come to SBVC for the Wolverines’ home opener at 1 p.m. Saturday.

As part of opening day festivities, SBVC Hall of Fame coach Stan Sanchez will throw out the honorary first pitch before the game.

However, as crews work on SBVC’s new, state-of-the-art technical education building and softball complex, the area around the baseball field has become limited for spectators.

Currently, there are only three sets of bleachers available for fans attending our games this season. We do not recommend that you bring your own chairs, as there is not enough room in the limited space available next to the visitor’s dugout on the third base side. Fans will not be allowed on the first base side of home plate in the construction zone.

As far as parking, there are no lots open directly adjacent to the field. The only public entrance to the field is located off of College Drive, near K Street. Parking is free on the SBVC campus, with parking lot 5, off of Esperanza Street, or parking lot 8, next to the stadium, recommended. Fans may park on the college (west) side of K Street, as well. However, parking across K Street is limited to permitted residents only.

Lastly, because of the construction, there is only one portable toilet available next to the field, and no hand-washing station.
