Eight SBVC Players Headed to Next Level

While the members of the San Bernardino Valley College baseball team have returned to the field to prepare for the 2024 season, eight former Wolverines are continuing their collegiate careers this fall at four-year institutions.

Among the contingent is All-State selection Nathan Campos-Jaramillo (Kaiser). Campos-Jaramillo, who led the state in doubles in the regular season last season, will join the squad at Cal State San Marcos.

Two members of last year’s team are headed up the 215 Freeway to Cal State San Bernardino. Infielder Ignacio Zamora (Jurupa Hills) and pitcher/outfielder Marcos Zamora (Jurupa Hills) will join the Coyotes as they attempt to make a return trip to the Division II World Series.

Also sticking close to home – just west on Interstate 10 – is infielder Melchor Flores (Martin Luther King), who will be playing at Cal Poly Pomona.

Infielder Ryan Callanan (John W. North) will continue his playing career at the University of New Mexico, Highlands, where he will play for new coach Harry Estep.

Three players from SBVC are headed to Leavenworth, Kan., to join the University of St. Mary baseball team. Pitchers Angel Nicoli Colli (Riverside Poly), Nicholas Salgado (Canyon Springs), and Andres Zarate (Canyon Springs) will join the Spires next season.
