Awards Keep Coming for SBVC's Double Threat

In today's era of hyper-specialization in baseball, it has become rare to see a player who can excel in multiple positions. To be a true utility player.

For the San Bernardino Valley College baseball team, Nathan Campos-Jaramillo has been one of those players in his two years at the school.

Jaramillo added to his post-season awards haul over the weekend, being selected as the state's All-American team as a utility player by the state baseball coaches association. Jaramillo had previously earned an All-Inland Empire Athletic Conference selection as a utility player.

The sophomore from Kaiser High School was counted on as a starter on the mound for the Wolverines - often serving as the designated hitter as well during his starts - and as the team's center fielder, roaming the vast outfield at SBVC.

Jaramillo ended the regular season leading the state in doubles with 24, and on the mound finished with a record of 4-3.
