Freshman Kimberly Pena has posted an impressive list of accomplishments in her first year at San Bernardino Valley.

The first-ever Inland Empire Athletic Conference champion was the conference's athlete of the month in October for her accomplishment. She added to it at the Southern California Championships in Mission Bay.

Pena posted the best finish of any woman at the event, finishing seventh with a time of 19 minutes, 51 seconds to earn her spot at the State Championships in Fresno on Nov. 23.

Two other Wolverines will join her in Fresno, as the team finished 15th - one spot out of the team qualifying range for the final race of the season.

Jayda Martinez and Jessica Aguilera each posted personal bests on the winding 5K course. Martinez finished 70th, with a time of 22:27.1, with Aguilar just six spots behind at 22:31.2.
