Runner Rojas-King Headed to University of St. Mary

Elvis Rojas-King, who was part of the 2019 Inland Empire Athletic Conference championship cross country team, has signed with University of St. Mary.

Rojas-King finished 44th in the Southern California regionals in 2019, and according to SBVC men’s cross country coach Jim Ratigan, was on track for a high finish at the State Championships in 2021. He also participated in track and field at SBVC, posting a 1:56.55 finish in the 800 meters and 3:59.96 in the 1500 meters. Rojas-King is a graduate of Beaumont High School.

“Elvis has tons of potential, and a super work ethic,” Ratigan said. “I am looking forward to seeing him develop at St. Mary.”

St. Mary features one of the top track and field programs in the NAIA. They finished fifth in the nation in cross country, tenth in indoor track and sixth in outdoor track.
