SBVC Men’s Cross Country grabs 12th place finish at Golden West Central Park Classic

SBVC moved onto their third event of the 2016 season at Central Park in Huntington Beach for the Golden West Central Park Classic, where the team finished 12th overall on the 4 mile course.

SBVC finished with 308 points, finishing 83 points ahead of Santa Monica, but Glendale would end up winning the event with 32 points. SBVC was without top runners, sophomore Michael Teran (Fontana Jurupa Hills), sophomore Luis Ortega (Fontana Jurupa Hills), sophomore Josue Lopez (Jurupa Valley Rubidoux) or sophomore Christian Sharp (Redlands East Valley).

Collecting a solid top 30 finish was freshman John Hernandez (Moreno Valley Canyon Springs) with a time of 22:06.1, finishing in 29th place and freshman Victor Herrera (San Bernardino Indian Springs) made it in with a time of 22:28.5, good enough for 46th place.

Freshman Federico "Danny" Juarez (Bloomington H.S.) finished in 58th place with a time of 22:50.0 and sophomore Angel Parga (Bloomington H.S.) cleared the finish line with a time of 23:41.1, well enough for 82nd place.

Wrapping up the top five for SBVC was freshman Rodrigo Castellon (San Bernardino Cajon) who collected a time of 24:02.2 to finish in 93rd place.

Freshman Getzemani Diaz (San Bernardino Arroyo Valley) and freshman Jacob Concha (San Bernardino Pacific) finished 95th and 96th on the afternoon for SBVC.
