The San Bernardino Valley College men’s soccer team may have had its season ended in a dramatic shootout defeat to Bakersfield College, but the team had plenty of positives to look back on during the 2022 season.

Among them was the play of the four members of the squad selected to the All-Inland Empire Athletic Conference team for the 2022 season.

First team selections from SBVC were Erick Ibarra and Christian Torres.

Ibarra, a feisty playmaking midfielder, led the team with five assists, while also scoring three goals – all three during IEAC play.

Torres, a fellow midfielder, held a more defensive role for the Wolverines. His work as a holding midfielder helped the Wolverines post a 1.67 goals against average for the season.

On the second team were Ebrima Njie and David Politron.

Njie, a sophomore, led SBVC in scoring on the season, finishing with eight goals and four assists – with two of the goals credited as game-winners.

A defender, Politron ended the season with one goal and two assists, while helping anchor the SBVC backline that posted three clean sheets on the season.
