The San Bernardino Valley College football team returned home after picking up its first victory since week 2 of the 2023 season, and made sure to end its home losing streak as well Saturday.

The Wolverines ran out to a 41-0 lead after the first quarter and cruised to a 70-0 victory over a depleted Compton College team that is facing a challenging season.

SBVC scored on its second play from scrimmage, just 26 seconds into the game as Kane Richardson hit Derek Conn for an 18-yard score. Jonthan Lupercio kicked the extra point to make it 7-0.

The defense was next on the board, as Gabe Warren returned a fumble 12 yards for a score. Then, on the Wolverines' next possession, Jonathan Coar busted open a run up the middle for a 51-yard score on his only carry of the game, making it 20-0.

From there, it was just a matter of what the final stats would be. The Wolverines only started two possessions - their first and second offensive possessions - on their side of the field. And the Coyotes only crossed midfield once - on the game's final drive.

SBVC held the Coyotes to only 21 yards of total offense, intercepting two passes and recovering three fumbles.

The Wolverines will play again at 6 p.m. on Sat., Sept. 20 taking on Victor Valley College.
