SBVC Football: Ramirez-Diaz signs letter with Arkansas

SBVC Football sophomore offensive lineman Paul Ramirez-Diaz (Rialto H.S.) has signed a letter of intent with the University of Arkansas.

Named first team All-Mountain Conference offense and the reason that Deion Walker and Mason Rutherford could grab all of those yards this past season was the hard work and dedication by multiple offensive linemen, including Ramirez-Diaz.

Under second-year coach John Shipp, SBVC finished with a record 9-2 overall and 6-1 in conference. As a reward for winning the American Division-Mountain Conference title and going to the Golden State Bowl, Coach Shipp was handed Coach of the Year honors. This is the first Coach of the Year award for head coach John Shipp who guided SBVC as the top three scoring team in the state and his offensive juggernaut was consistently ranked throughout the year, averaging 41.4 points per game. As a reward for their winning record, the team was bestowed with six first team All-Mountain Conference honors and eight second team All-Mountain Conference honors.

University of Arkansas is located in Fayetteville, Arkansas, which is about 30 miles east of the Arkansas-Oklahoma border. The Arkansas Razorbacks play at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium, and the team is coached by third-year head coach, Bret Bielema. In the 2015 season, the Razorbacks went 5-3 in conference play, with an overall record of 8-5, knocking off Kansas State in the Liberty Bowl. Arkansas is in the South East Conference-West Division (SEC) of NCAA Division I.
