Wolverines Find Swagger, Can't Stop Glendale

The San Bernardino Valley College women's volleyball team took its game to another level in the third set of Wednesday night's game against Glendale.

But the confidence and swagger they found melted away as the Vaqueros outlasted the Wolverines for a four-set victory, 25-18, 25-16, 18-25, 25-19.

As a team, the Wolverines converted 19.6 percent of their kill attempts, and digging out 59 Glendale attacks. In the third set, the Wolverines went on an eight-point run to pull away and pick up the game.

Savanna Aguilar led the SBVC attack with 14 kills, while Anyssa Baca added nine. Sequoia Flott had six kills in 14 attempts, while Savannah Carter had five kills and two blocks. Brianna Wagner had 16 digs while Melanie Lizama had 11, along with four service aces.

The Wolverines will have a week to prepare for the opening of Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division play next week.
