Wolverines Can't Keep Pace with Soaring Eagles

The San Bernardino Valley College women’s volleyball team got off to a quick start in its first home game in two weeks on Wednesday.

But the Wolverines were unable to keep pace, as Mt. San Jacinto College came back from an early deficit in each of the first two sets to sweep SBVC 25-13, 25-19, 25-15 in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference match.

San Bernardino Valley College (2-12 overall, 0-2 in the PCAC) was fired up to start the game, running out to an 8-4 lead. But after a timeout, the Eagles (8-8, 2-1) tied the first set at 10, then pulled away.

The Wolverines got off to another good start in the second set. The two teams battled back and forth in the middle of the game, with the Eagles pulling away at the end.

The Eagles started quick in the third, not looking back.

Rochelle Dizon and Tialanni Iose led the Wolverines with seven kills apiece. Dizon was credited with 11 digs, while Destiny Alvarez had 17 assists in the loss.
