The San Bernardino Valley College women's volleyball, playing its second match in as many days, needed five sets to pick up its second win of the season, defeating West Los Angeles College on Thursday evening.
Valley won the match 22-25, 25-23, 24-26, 25-19, 15-9.
Savanna Aguilar (Beaumont) led the Wolverines' attack in the match, converting 10 kills on 20 attempts in the match, which featured several back-and-forth rallies that kept the crowd entertained. Teammates Rochelle Dizon (Redlands East Valley) and Tialanni Iose (Rialto Carter) each had nine more kills for San Bernardino Valley, which moved to 2-3 on the season, breaking a three-game losing streak.
Destiny Alvarez (Banning) doled out 33 assists in the five-set match.
Both teams will play again as part of the San Bernardino Valley quad tournament Friday morning, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
