Los Angeles Mission Soars Past Valley in Four Sets

The San Bernardino Valley College women's volleyball team could not overcome their errors on defense Friday night, as they fell in four sets to Los Angeles Mission College.

The Eagles (3-1) won 26-28, 25-20, 25-14, 25-17.

The Wolverines (1-2) ran out to an early lead, but had to battle back to win the first set. In the set, they staved off a pair of set points, finally breaking through for the win.

The two sides battled in the second set, with the Eagles leveling the score. LA Mission used the momentum to run out to a 9-1 lead in the third set, earning its most decisive victory over the match.

Valley led again in the fourth set, but Mission was able to chip away, finishing off the Wolverines in just under two hours.

Verenice Rivera (Beaumont) led the Valley attack with eight kills, nine digs and a pair of aces. Tialanni Iose (Beaumont)  had six kills in the match for the Wolverines.
