SBVC Women’s Volleyball lost a tough one against Palomar

SBVC fought a tough battle against the San Marcos Palomar Comets, but ended up losing in three sets with scores of 19-25, 14-25 and 17-25.

Game one, SBVC came out strong taking an early 6-3 lead, forcing the Comets to take an early timeout. Midway through the game SBVC started to climb back into the game tying the game 16-16. SBVC looked as though they were getting ready for a big push late, but Palomar regained their momentum and secured set one.

 Sophomore outside hitter Lashay Cason (Fontana Summit) led the team with 5 kills, 12 digs, 2 solo blocks and an assist block and a service ace and freshman libero Karina Solis (Fontana H.S.) grabbed 17 digs and a service ace on the night. Sophomore setter Jessica Socha (Riverside Martin Luther King, Jr.) led the team with 12 assists, 3 kills and 7 digs and freshman outside hitter Cara Littlefield (Grand Terrace H.S.) collected 12 digs and 3 kills.

 The next game for SBVC will be Wednesday, September 10 at 5 p.m. at Mt. San Jacinto. The next home game for SBVC will be Wednesday, September 24 at 5 p.m. vs. Orange Coast.
