SBVC Women’s Track & Field: Hebb grabs 2nd in 3K at Cerritos Opener

SBVC Women's Track & Field hit the road again for their second event of the 2016 season as they sent seven student athletes to Cerritos College in Norwalk for the Cerritos Opener. SBVC participated in the 400 meter hurdles, 400 meter dash, 4x400 meter relay and the 3000 meter run.

Distance coach Jim Ratigan said, freshman distance runner Alyssa Hebb (Redlands East Valley) "dropped 21 seconds off of her previous best in the 3K with a time of 11:07.69. This time ranks her 7th in So Cal and 11th in the state for the 3K." Hebb would finish in 2nd place and sophomore distance runner Jennifer Granados (Jurupa Valley Patriot) collected a time of 12:28.11, which was good enough for 19th place.

Sophomore relay runner Cara Littlefield (Grand Terrace H.S.) led the way for SBVC with a 5th place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:14.99. Sophomore hurdler Briana McField (Rialto W.A. Carter) grabbed a 7th place finish in the same event with a time of 1:17.13 and freshman hurdler Alicia Sandoval-Paris (San Bernardino Cajon) collected an 8th place finish with a time of 1:18.61.

Sophomore sprints runner Aisha Johnwell (Etiwanda H.S.) collected a 5th place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:03.65.

SBVC also finished in 4th place in the 4x400 meter relay as the team put up a time of 4:19.42, dropping 3.9 seconds off of their previous best. Littlefield opened things up, then handed off to Perez, who gave it to Johnwell and then Sandoval-Paris was handed the anchor leg.
