SBVC Women’s Track & Field opens up the 2016 season at the All Comers Meet

SBVC Women's Track & Field began the 2016 season with a bang as they sent seven student athletes to Pitzer College in Pomona for the All Comers Meet. SBVC participated in the 400 meter hurdles, 400 meter dash, 4x400 meter relay, 1000 meter run and the 3000 meter run.

Freshman hurdler Alicia Sandoval-Paris (San Bernardino Cajon) led the way for SBVC with a 14th place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:13.50. Sophomore hurdler Briana McField (Rialto W.A. Carter) grabbed a 22nd place finish in the same event with a time of 1:20.51.

Freshman sprints runner Savanna Perez (Rialto W.A. Carter) collected a 15th place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.19 and sophomore sprints runner Aisha Johnwell (Etiwanda H.S.) finished in 31st place with a time of 1:05.06.

Distance coach Jim Ratigan said, freshman distance runner Alyssa Hebb (Redlands East Valley) "took a spill early in the 3000 meter run but rebounded nicely to run 11:28.43 which ranks her at #16 in So Cal." Hebb would finish in 38th place and sophomore distance runner Jennifer Granados (Jurupa Valley Patriot) collected a time of 12:34.10, which was good enough for 55th place.

SBVC also finished in 14th place in the 4x400 meter relay as the team put up a time of 4:23.33, sophomore relay runner Cara Littlefield (Grand Terrace H.S.) opened things up then handed off to Perez, who gave it to Johnwell and then Sandoval-Paris was handed the anchor leg.
