SBVC Women’s Track & Field finishes 5th at Cal Poly Pomona Preview

SBVC Women's Track & Field sent 9 student athletes to the Cal Poly Pomona Preview at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut on February 28th. Of the 18 events, SBVC participated in 10 events, nine finished in the top 15, four of which were top 10 and one finished in the top 5.

SBVC claimed fifth place in the javelin throw, as well as sixth place in the shot put, seventh in the 400 meter hurdles, seventh in the hammer throw and eighth place in the 400 meter dash.

 Finishing fifth in the javelin throw was sophomore Tiffani King (San Bernardino Arroyo Valley) who threw for a distance of 30.15 meters, 0.84 meters ahead of her nearest competition. Finishing seventh in the hammer throw was freshman Taneeah Madison (Rialto W.A. Carter) who came in with a distance of 36.36 meters, 1.03 meters ahead of his nearest competition. SBVC also finished 12th and 14th in the hammer throw.

 Madison also grabbed the highest finish for SBVC with a seventh place finish in the shot put with a distance of 10.46 meters, 0.12 meters ahead of her nearest competition.

 SBVC also claimed 8th in the 400 meter dash with freshman Mariah Gonzalez (San Jacinto H.S.) leading the way with a time of 1:11.39. Freshman Cara Littlefield (Grand Terrace H.S.) collected a seventh place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:14.56.
