SBVC Women’s Track & Field participates in University of Redlands Invitational

SBVC Women's Track & Field sent nine student athletes to the University of Redlands Invitational in Redlands on March 20th. Of the 19 events, SBVC participated in 12 events, eight finished in the top 15, five of which were top 10, and three finished in the top 5.

SBVC claimed fourth place in the 400 meter hurdles, fourth in the 4x100 meter relay, fourth in the javelin throw, sixth in the 100 meter hurdles and seventh in the 4x400 meter relay.

 Finishing fourth in the 400 meter hurdles was freshman Cara Littlefield (Grand Terrace H.S.) with a time of 1:12.49, which was 4.35 seconds ahead of her nearest opponent. Littlefield also ran the third leg of the 4x100 meter relay team, which finished fourth with a time of 55.17, she was joined on the team by freshman Briana Mcfield (Rialto W.A. Carter), freshman Breena Mcfield (Rialto W.A. Carter) and running the anchor leg, freshman Mariah Gonzalez (San Jacinto H.S.). Briana also finished sixth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.18, which was 0.03 seconds ahead of her nearest opponent.

 Finishing fourth in the javelin throw was sophomore Tiffani King (San Bernardino Temple Learning Center) who came in with a distance of 30.81 meters, 1.85 meters ahead of her nearest competition.

 SBVC also claimed seventh in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of time of 4:24.94.
