SBVC Women’s Track & Field participates in 37th annual Aztec Track & Field Invitational

SBVC Women's Track & Field sent nine student athletes to the San Diego State University Aztec Track & Field Invitational in San Diego on March 27th and 28th. Of the 19 events, SBVC participated in eight events, five of which were top 10, five finished in the top 5 and grabbed a first place finish in the 400 meter hurdles.

SBVC claimed second place in the 400 meter run, fourth in the 100 meter dash, fifth in the long jump, sixth in the 800 meter run and tenth in the 1500 meter run.

 Finishing first in her 400 meter hurdles section was freshman Cara Littlefield (Grand Terrace H.S.) with a time of 1:11.31, which was 1.23 seconds ahead of her nearest opponent. Freshman Briana Mcfield (Rialto W.A. Carter) finished second in her section of the 400 meter run with a time of 1:06.65, which was 0.23 seconds ahead of her nearest opponent.

 Freshman Mariah Gonzalez (San Jacinto H.S.) finished fourth in her 100 meter dash section with a time of 14.24, which was 1.94 seconds ahead of her nearest opponent. Littlefield also participated in the long jump, collecting a fifth place finish in her section with a distance of 4.26 meters, which was 0.01 meters ahead of her nearest opponent.

 Finishing sixth in her 800 meter run section was sophomore Jazmin Romero-Ordonez (Beaumont H.S.) with a time of 2:25.43, which was 1.79 seconds ahead of her nearest opponent. Romero-Ordonez also participated in the 1500 meter run, where she placed tenth in her section with a time of 4:55.41, which was 0.85 seconds ahead of her nearest opponent.
