SBVC Women’s Track & Field participates in Arnie Robinson Invitational

SBVC Women's Track & Field sent 11 student athletes to the Arnie Robinson Invitational at San Diego Mesa in Clairemont Mesa on April 4th. Of the 19 events, SBVC participated in 12 events, three of which were top 15, nine of which were top 10 and five finished in the top 5.

SBVC claimed second place in the 800 meter run, second place in the 1500 meter run, third in the javelin throw, fifth in the 4x400 meter relay and sixth in the shot put.

 Finishing second in the 800 meter run was sophomore Jazmin Romero-Ordonez (Beaumont H.S.) with a time of 2:25.99, which was 0.63 seconds ahead of her nearest opponent. Romero-Ordonez also participated in the 1500 meter run, where she placed second in her section with a time of 4:53.98, which was 2.73 seconds ahead of her nearest opponent.

 Sophomore Tiffani King (San Bernardino Temple Learning Center) finished third in the javelin throw with a distance of 29.92 meters, which was 1.08 meters ahead of her nearest opponent. SBVC finished fifth in the 4x400 meter relay and 4x100 meter relay as well, with times of 4:23.69 and 54.28 respectively.

 Finishing sixth in the shot put was freshman Taneeah Madison (Rialto W.A. Carter) with a distance of 9.91 meters, which was 0.09 meters ahead of her nearest opponent.
