SBVC Women’s Track & Field finishes 5th at the PCAC Finals

SBVC Women's Track & Field sent nine student athletes to the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Finals at San Diego Mesa in Clairemont Mesa on April 18th. Of the 20 events, SBVC participated in 14 events, five of which were top 10, five finished in the top 5 and four finished in the top 3.

SBVC grabbed a Conference Championship in the javelin throw, with sophomore Tiffani King (San Bernardino Temple Learning Center) taking the title at the Conference Prelims on Wednesday at San Bernardino Valley College.

SBVC claimed second place in the 400 meter dash, third in the shot put, third in the 4x100 meter relay, third in the 4x400 meter relay, fourth in the 1500 meter run and fourth in the 400 meter hurdles. The Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Finals were won by Southwestern with a total of 260 points, 81 points ahead of their nearest competitor, defending Conference champions San Diego Mesa, and 184 points ahead of SBVC, which finished fifth with 76 points.

Finishing second in the 400 meter dash was freshman Cara Littlefield (Grand Terrace H.S.) with a time of 1:01.00, which was 0.11 seconds ahead of her nearest opponent. She also grabbed a fourth place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.12, which was 1.41 seconds ahead of her nearest opponent.

Freshman Taneeah Madison (Rialto W.A. Carter) finished third in the shot put with a distance of 10.43 meters, which was 0.36 meters ahead of her nearest opponent and teammate, Tiffani King, finished 11th.

SBVC finished third in both the 4x100 meter relay and third in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 53.16 in the 4x100 and a time of 4:19.80 in the 4x400.

Grabbing a fourth place finish in the 1500 meter run was sophomore Jazmin Romero-Ordonez (Beaumont H.S.) with a time of 4:58.28, which was 9.17 seconds ahead of her nearest opponent and teammate freshman Citlaly Garcia (San Bernardino Cajon) finished 13th.
